Bungie has just delivered a much-needed patch to Destiny, add more incentive to embark on Nightfall Strikes and tamed the Nightstalker's shadow shots.

So to make Nightfall Strike more worthy of the work, Bungie has boosted the base level of rewards for the weekly quests by 10 Attack/Defense. And the chances of landing legendary rewards have been boosted from 50 percent to 60 percent.

Destiny also raised the number of Three of Coins and Strange Coin rewards. The developer added Ghosts to the loot table for Legendary rewards, while removing antiquated runes. And lastly, Legendary Engram won't drop from boss kills in the strikes anymore.

As for the adjustments to the Nightstalker Hunter, Bungie says this hot fix offers just a temporary fix.

"Temporarily removed the extra shots from Quiver to avoid unlimited Shadowshots," says Bungie. "This is a temporary fix, and the node will be restored in a fixed state in an upcoming patch"

Elsewhere in the hotfix, Bungie tweaked the Daily Heroir story, King's Fall and the Crucible. Here's what else is new in Destiny with the arrival of hotfix 2.0.1.2:

Activities

Daily Heroic Story

• Removed deprecated Quest requirements from "Siege of the Warmind"

• Removed deprecated Quest requirements from "The Wakening"

King's Fall

• King's Fall Hard Mode will be available at 10AM on 10/23

• Recommended Light is 310

• King's Fall Hard Mode has the following changes:

‣ King's Fall Hard Mode rewards will drop up to 320 Light

‣ Oryx in Hard Mode will guarantee a Raid item drop each week, without requiring Moldering Shards

‣ Oryx in Normal mode will still require Moldering Shards

‣ Moldering Shards can drop in King's Fall Hard Mode, but only if a character hasn't cleared King's Fall Normal for the week

Crucible

Weekly Crucible Bounty

• Increased base level of Weekly Crucible Bounty Legendary rewards by 10 Attack

• Increased number of Strange Coins awarded

• Ghosts have been added to the Legendary reward loot table

For those feeling that some gameplay elements weren't the only thing broken with Destiny, Kotaku recently reported on tales of torn up story scripts. After years of penning a story for Destiny, the two-hour video summary of the game fell flat when presented before Bungie's senior staff.

So the original narrative, which was described as a "campy and linear," was eventually cut and the story was rewritten about a year before the game launched.
