A mother is now crying foul after a photo she posted on Facebook, got her banned temporarily. As it stands, the mother from Hickory could be banned for life from the social network, and this has forced her to come out in public with her situation.

The mother in question is called Jill White, and she took an image of her two year old daughter with the intention of recreating the "Coppertone Girl" pose. However, after posting the image of Facebook, the social network deemed the image as pornography and gave her the temporary ban hammer.

The image that is causing the entire ruckus shows the naked bottom of the two year old girl.

According to White, she was banned for 24 hours the first time after the image was reported to Facebook. After that, she censored the image and reposted it on Facebook, but it was reported, and Facebook deemed it inappropriate. The social network also warned that she could come face-to-face with a lifetime ban if she should repost the image.

"I was completely shocked and outraged," White, a mother of six, said. "Nowhere did I see anything pornographic about this photo. There is nothing sexual about it. It's sweet."

However, a Facebook representative claim that White was not threatened with a lifetime ban.

"It is hard. With over 1 billion people using Facebook we have to put in place a set of universal guidelines that respect the views of a wide range of people," a Facebook spokesperson said.

"These policies are designed to ensure Facebook remains a safe, secure and trusted environment for everyone on Facebook," the statement continued.

Facebook also claims the censored image has been reported, but hasn't been deleted despite what White has claimed. In addition, Facebook says the social network takes images of children very seriously, and that the image was removed because it showed the little girl's buttocks, and not because it was deemed as pornographic content.

From what we can tell, White appears to be fighting a losing battle. Furthermore, we can understand the need for Facebook to remove the image in the first place because it could attract pedophiles seeking nude images of children for their own sick pleasures.
