Fans of Gears of War: Ultimate Edition can now enjoy the title on their PC as the game is now being launched for Windows 10.

The game's PC version is designed to showcase the platform's most recent gaming performance. Likewise, it offers a bunch of new content, including five campaign chapters which gamers will not find in the Xbox 360 version, the Deluxe Weapon Skin Pack and the 11 multiplayer characters as bonus.

"The planet lies in ruin," says Microsoft on the game's storyline. "An inmate named Marcus Fenix, once left to die, is humanity's only hope versus the relentless Locust."

Being remastered for Windows 10, the game offers support for the mouse and the keyboard, allowing players to have more playing options than merely using a gamepad. It also features unlocked frame rates seen on both campaign and multiplayer modes. So long as PC gamers have the proper equipment, they can achieve a resolution of up to 4K.

"The story of Gears of War thrusts gamers into a deep and harrowing battle for survival against the Locust Horde, a nightmarish race of creatures that surfaced from the bowels of the planet," says the game's description on its official site.

Other highlights of the game's PC launch include a bonus campaign content from the game's original 2007 PC edition that lasts for 90 minutes; unlockable comics and concept art gallery; New Xbox Live achievements; new game types that include 2v2 Gnasher Execution, Blitz, King of the Hill and Team Deathmatch; Modernized Multiplayer which features 60 fps, skill-based matchmaking and dedicated servers; 17 unlockable characters from Gears of War 3; and 19 maps.

System requirements for the game's 1,920 x 1,080p include Windows 10 version 1511 in 64 bit; AMD FX 8-core or Intel Core i5 at 3.5 GHz plus for the processor; memory of 16 GB RAM; Radeon R9 290X or GeForce GTX 970 for the graphics; 60 GB available space and DirectX 12.

Gears of War: Ultimate Edition for Windows 10 PCs is available on the Windows Store for $29.99. The game was originally released for the Xbox One on Aug. 25, 2015 (Pacific and the Americas) and on Aug. 28, 2015 (Africa, Middle East and Europe). Its Windows 10 PC release is said to be worldwide.
