Twitter has released the update for its universal app for Windows 10, which includes a total revamp of the user interface for Windows 10 Mobile.

The announcement was made by both Twitter and Windows through posts on their official blogs, where the companies stated that features have been added to the app to make sharing and content discovery more seamless.

Among the changes for the Windows 10 Mobile app include the addition of the Moments feature, which collect the best events currently happening worldwide, and the introduction of new abilities, namely sending group Direct Messages; shooting, editing and tweeting videos; sharing a tweet with the user's own comments through quote tweet and browsing the top tweets without being logged in.

In addition to the revamped Window 10 Mobile app, Twitter said that it will be adding the dark theme, which is one of the most requested features to the service. The feature is available on all Windows 10-powered devices, though for Windows 10 Mobile, the theme is altered depending on the theme setting for the smartphone's system.

The dark theme can be accessed by heading into the app's Settings and then selecting the Personalization menu.

"Overall, the app looks and feels a lot more complete," notes The Verge, and the addition of Windows 10 Mobile makes Twitter a truly universal Windows 10 app.

However, there are currently only a very limited number of mobile devices that the Windows 10 Twitter app will work on. Windows 10 Mobile can only be found in the Lumia 950 and the Lumia 950 XL, and in the smartphones of users who have previously signed up for the Insider Program of Microsoft to beta-test the mobile version of the operating system.

The list of compatible devices for Windows 10 Mobile and the new Twitter app could be expanding very soon though, as the over-the-air update for the operating system could be arriving as early as March 17 to the Lumia 1520, Lumia 930, Lumia 830, Lumia 735, Lumia 640, Lumia 650 XL, Lumia 638 and Lumia 535.
