OnePlus 2 owners should be glad to know that the company started soak testing its Android 6.0 update, which will become part of Oxygen OS 3.0.

Fans of the handset know very well that the company doesn't ship its devices with plain Android alone. OnePlus devices actually run OxygenOS, which is based on Android.

In the soak test, it seemed like the company's OnePlus 2 handset will carry Android version 6.0.1 along with OxygenOS version 3.0.0. Other details include a build number of ONE A2003_24_160315; baseband version of MPSS.BO.2.5.c9-00013-M8994FAAAANAZM-1 and kernel version of 3.10.84-perf+, OnePlus@ubuntu-56 #1.

The soak test also hinted at some tweaks that OnePlus is bringing to its ROM. These include new wallpapers, customizations to the home screen and a dedicated slider that's meant to display alerts.

OnePlus touts the OnePlus 2 handset as a flagship killer, as it is designed with high-end specs but with a more pocket-friendly price tag.

"With the OnePlus 2, we have something bold to say," says OnePlus. "We believe that great products come from great ideas, not multimillion-dollar marketing campaigns. We believe 'that's just the way things are' is almost always the wrong answer. Most of all, we believe that great things should be shared."

Notable specs and features of the OnePlus 2 smartphone include a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor with a 1.8 GHz octa-core CPU, Adreno 430 GPU, 4 GB of RAM, 3,300 mAh embedded rechargeable LiPo battery, dual SIM, Optical Image Stabilization and USB Type-C. It also has a number of sensors that include fingerprint, gyroscope, accelerometer, ambient light and proximity.

Photo buffs will also be delighted to know that the OnePlus 2 comes equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel distortion-free front camera. OnePlus boasts that the large pixels of the camera sensor are able to collect more light in dark conditions, resulting in sharp images with less noise.

Earlier this month, the company updated the OnePlus 2 with Oxygen 2.2.1. While it added certain features to the handset, the update didn't really create that much noise as far as new features are concerned. Perhaps the upcoming version will be something that fans can really look forward to once it is officially launched.
