Fallout 4 buffs can look forward to a revamped Survival Mode, which will be in Steam beta in the ensuing week, suggesting that its release is on the anvil.

The announcement was made by Bethesda Game Studios on Tuesday via Twitter. The tweet also asked fans of the post-apocalyptical game to await additional details.

The developer was responding to a fan query as to when the Survival Mode would be available.

For the unfamiliar, the overhaul to the game's Survival Mode was announced in February. It will bring several changes to Fallout 4, including disabling features such as fast travel, manual and quicksaves. The overhaul will make the combats more deadly and gamers will have nicer beds instead of sleeping bags.

However, even though the Survival Mode will be in beta next week, this is only for Windows PC users. Moreover, it is not known when the final version of the title will be making its way to consoles.

Windows PC version users of Fallout 4 will be getting the overhauled Survival Mode before console users. Post the beta, the game will release in full on Steam followed by a PS4 and Xbox One release.

In February, Fallout 4's director Todd Howard had revealed that the game's beta could possibly last a month.

"If it's not really working, and we need to iterate on it, it may stay in beta for a month, depending on what we are changing. But we want to make it have the game feel different," said Howard at the time.

In February, Bethesda had also let on that it would be revamping the game's maximum difficulty level to imbibe new features such as disease, as well as other challenges.

We will keep you updated on the exact release of the game's Survival Mode. Until then, enjoy the first-ever expansion pack for Fallout 4, Automatron, which launched on March 22.
