An image of the Moto X + 1 has leaked which shows off its Moto Maker customized leather and aluminum option. AT&T will get the exclusive on Moto Maker and the carrier has reportedly finalized pricing and release date.

Samsung, Apple, and Motorola have all scheduled press events in September to unveil next-generation smartphones, smartwatches, and a virtual reality headset. Samsung will show off its latest devices at a Sept. 3 Unpacked event in Berlin to kick off the IFA trade show. The company has used the show each year since 2011 to announce its latest flagship Galaxy Note phablet. Samsung is widely expected to officially announce the Galaxy Note 4, provide more details on its new Galaxy Gear S smartwatch with built-in 3G radio, and Gear VR headset.

Apple has invited the press to a Sept. 9 event, where the company will launch its highly-anticipated iPhone 6. The company is expected to launch both a 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch iPhone 6 to better compete with Android smartphones packing similar-sized displays. Apple will also reportedly show off its much-hyped iWatch smartwatch for the first time, but some reports claim the wearable device will only be previewed at the event, as was done with the original iPhone and iPad, and will then go on sale at a later date.

Motorola will hold its event on Sept. 4 and the company is expected to announce its latest flagship smartphone, the Moto X + 1, mid-range Moto G2, and Android Wear-based Moto 360 smartwatch. The Moto X + 1 will replace the Moto X as the company's flagship smartphone and it will reportedly be even more customizable using the Moto Maker customization site.

A new image of the Moto X + 1 has leaked and it reportedly shows off a black leather rear case and aluminum frame option that will be available via Moto Maker. TK Tech News is reporting that just like last year, AT&T will get the exclusive on the Moto Maker customization service. The site claims that its sources say the 32 GB AT&T Moto X + 1 will be made available for pre-order on Sept. 6 and will be priced at $199 with a new two-year contract. The AT&T Moto X + 1 will reportedly be released on Sept. 28. There's no word on when we can expect to see the Moto X + 1 land on Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile. Once we hear more information, we'll pass it on.
