The latest update to The Division fixed a number of issues. Unfortunately, it also created one major one, an issue that players are still enduring.

It's a game-breaking bug that can lock players out of their accounts, rendering them unable to play the game. The issue is most commonly caused by players crafting a certain high-level backpack. That's a major problem, but the good news is that a fix is on the way. The bad news? Players will have to wait another week for the fix to arrive.

In a recent post on The Division forums, community manager Natchai Stappers announced the bug fix would be coming in the free April 12 update alongside all of the game's new content.

"We will be deploying a fix in update 1.1 on April 12th that should resolve instances of the infinite loading/backpack issue," Stappers says on the forums. "Due to this fix requiring a client patch, we cannot deploy it at an earlier date. We thank you for your patience."

That's not great news for players who are still unable to play their game over the issue, but at least fans now know when to expect the fix to go live. Ubisoft is advising fans not to attach mods to items not currently in use in the meantime, though how exactly the backpack glitch and attaching mods to items relate to one another isn't entirely clear.

When the bug is fixed, players locked out of their accounts (along with everybody else) will be able to enjoy all the new content Ubisoft will have added to the game. The biggest addition to The Division will be a new activity called an incursion, a high level instance that will reward players with some of the best gear in the game, while also offering the game's greatest challenge.

Ubisoft will also be adding Supply Drops to the Dark Zone. These crates of items will be defended by elite NPC enemies. Those who do manage to defeat the defenders will be able to score all of the high-level items in the supply drop, with no extraction from the Dark Zone required. That should add some tension to the game's PvP zone. You can read more about the upcoming update here.
