More than a few players have already sunk dozens upon dozens of hours into The Division, and those players are likely already waiting for what's coming next.

Thankfully, they won't have to wait long. The Division's first content update is coming on April 12 to all platforms, and it's going to add brand new end-game activities in which players can participate.

The major attraction for most players will be the addition of the new Falcon Lost incursion activity. Think of incursions kind of like raids in Destiny.

They are high-level, end-game missions that will require a skilled team working together in order to be victorious, especially since incursions have no checkpoints of any kind. Falcon Lost will take players to a brand new area of New York by having them navigate the city's sewer system and defeat a group that has taken over a local water treatment facility. Incursions can be done multiple times, though the best gear will only be awarded for the first completion per week.

Unlike Destiny's end-game raids, players can match-make their way into incursions, with the mission's hard difficulty requiring players to have a certain item level in order to participate. Gear will now have a level associated with it based on stats and rarity, which will then be combined to form a player's overall gear level.

Incursions will drop some of the best items in the game, including newly-added item sets built around specific combat roles. Each set will have a unique talent that is rewarded upon equipping a certain number of items from any given set.

For those who prefer to get their gear from competing with other players in the Dark Zone, Ubisoft is adding Supply Drops to ratchet up the tension. These supply crates containing gear will drop every hour and be defended by a group of elite enemies. The first player to claim the crate will get to keep the rewards, no extraction required.

Players will even be able to trade items with one another in the upcoming update. For a period of two hours, players in the same group can trade items with one another, as long as they were in the group when said item dropped.

Last but not least, new daily and weekly assignments will give end-game players another way to earn Phoenix credits and other needed currencies. These assignments aren't tied to a specific mission, but instead focus on objectives like "killing 10 Cleaners."

That's the quick and dirty version of the update, but you can read more details here.
