Rocket League boxed edition is slated to hit the store shelves in July, following an announcement by game developer Psyonix.

The game initially launched on the PS4 and PC in 2015, while the Xbox One version of the title started to become available in February this year. Microsoft also announced that PC players will soon be able to compete against Xbox users when the game gets cross-platform support, which is currently available on the title's PS4 and Steam versions.

The game will feature four new vehicles along with a trio of existing DLC packs. These include "Chaos Run," "Supersonic Fury" and "Revenge of the Battle-Cars."

The "Chaos Run" DLC pack will include 2 new Battle-Cars (Grog and Ripper), with each car getting 6 unique Decals, new Paint Types (2), new Wheels (2), new Rocket Trails (2), new Toppers (3) and new Antennas (3).

"Supersonic Fury" also features 2 new Battle-Cars (Takumi and Dominus), with each car also getting 6 unique Decals, more new Paint Types (2), new Rocket Boosts (2), new Antennas (3) and new Wheels (5).

"Revenge of the Battle-Cars" will include new but classic Battle-Cars known as Scarab and Zippy. Similar to the aforementioned DLC packs, it is also getting new Paint Types (3), new Wheels (2), new Antennas (2), new Toppers (4), new Rocket Trails (2) and a total of 12 unique Decals for the two Battle-Cars.

Xbox One players received additional content from the launch that includes a trio of existing DLC packs that come bundled with the game free, two exclusive vehicles (the Warthog from the Halo series and the Armadillo from Gears Of War), some Garage items such as Fizzie and Overcharge Rocket Trail of Sunset Overdrive and an impressive quantity of Rocket League standard content.

Rocket League recently won the "Best Design" recognition award at the 2016 Game Developers Choice Awards.

"Rocket League is [a] futuristic Sports-Action game, in which players are equipped with booster-rigged vehicles that can be crashed into balls for incredible goals or epic saves across multiple, highly-detailed arenas," states the game's description on its official page. "Using an advanced physics system to simulate realistic interactions, Rocket League relies on mass and momentum to give players a complete sense of intuitive control in this unbelievable, high-octane re-imagining of association football."

Rocket League boxed edition is hitting the U.S. stores on July 5, while fans in Europe, Africa and the Middle East can snag the title on June 24. The physical release of the game will be available to both users of the PS4 and Xbox One.
