Steam is having another publisher weekend sale, and this time, it's on some of the most popular game franchises from Activision.

The publisher is perhaps most well-known for the long-running Call of Duty franchise, so naturally, the popular shooters are at the front and center of the sale. The newest entry in the series, Call of Duty: Black Ops III, is discounted 40 percent for a price tag of $35.99. It's far from the only game in the series to be on sale. Both Black Ops 1 and Black Ops II are discounted more than 50 percent, and older titles like Call of Duty 2, World at War and Modern Warfare 1 and 2 are each on sale for $9.99. Players can also snag more recent entries like Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and Call of Duty: Ghosts at a discount.

Call of Duty is just the tip of the sale iceberg. Transformers fans will find plenty to love as well, as the well-received Transformers: Cybertron series is on sale, too. Transformers: War for Cybertron is on sale at a 75 percent discount of $4.99, while the sequel is available for $12.49. The Platinum Games-developed Transformers: Devastation, released last year, is also 50 percent off for $24.99.

Aside from those two major franchises, a number of other titles can be snagged for cheap. Both Prototype games are on sale, as are a number of Cabela's hunting games. Players can pick up the HD remaster of the original of the Neversoft-developed Tony Hawk's Pro Skater for $4.99, or check out the also Neversoft-developed western Gun for the same price. The Deadpool game is also on sale for $19.99 (though we would advise against picking that one up).

All in all, there looks to be something for every type of gamer in this sale. If you're looking to snag something to play this weekend on a budget, you might want to give Steam a look.

In a currently-ongoing and completely unrelated Steam promotion, Ubisoft's Rainbow Six Siege is having a free-to-play weekend on Steam as well. We enjoyed the game immensely, so, for shooter fans, it's definitely worth checking out.
