A great new deal has emerged for Google's flagship Nexus 6P. The 32 GB smartphone is currently on sale for $419, compared with its normal $499 and includes a $50 gift card and screen protector kit.
When Google launched its current flagship Nexus smartphones in late 2015, the company took a dual-device strategy like Samsung and Apple, and for the first time, released two different Nexus smartphones: the Huawei Nexus 6P and more affordable LG-designed Nexus 5X.
Google's lineup of Nexus smartphones and tablets is extremely popular with Android fans because, since the devices are built by Google, they come with the guarantee of receiving the freshest version of Android whenever it's ready. This is in stark contrast to other popular high-end Android smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy Note 5, which didn't receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow until early March, almost eight months after it debuted on the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P.
The Nexus 6P in particular received favorable reviews from tech critics and Android fans, in part because of its sleek and premium aluminum build and top-of-the-line specs. The Nexus 6P rocks a 5.7-inch Quad HD AMOLED display with a resolution of 2560 by 1440 and includes 32 GB of internal storage. The device ships with Android 6.0 Marshmallow and is capable of being upgraded to Android N Beta, which is expected to be released by Google in the fall.
The camera abilities on the Nexus 6P include a 12.3-megapixel rear camera with laser-assisted autofocus, dual-LED (dual tone) flash, ability to capture 4K UHD video at 30fps, in addition to an 8-megapixel front-facing shooter for selfies, video chat and capturing 1,080p Full HD video at 30fps.
Google chose to use an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 v2.1 processor, Adreno 430 GPU (graphics processing unit) and 3 GB of RAM, coupled with stock Android, which results in a snappy user experience.
The Nexus 6P packs in a large 3,450 mAh battery, which will provide up to 23 hours of talk time and 440 hours of standby time. It also has fast charging capabilities, which will provide up to seven hours of use from only 10 minutes of charging, according to Google.
