It was anything but pleasant when Hideo Kojima parted ways with Konami, but that's all in the past now. What's important is the future and that means training our focus on Kojima's new game starring Norman Reedus.

Kojima had been working with Reedus on a Silent Hills project before, so it's not surprising the game developer invited the Walking Dead star to become a part of his new game, the first he's developing since he became an independent developer and founded Kojima Productions.

The trailer for the game, called Death Stranding, was revealed during Sony's E3 2016 press conference. Set to Low Roar's "I'll Be Coming," the trailer is trademark Kojima, showing a naked Reedus picking up a baby on a beach covered in oil and dead ocean creatures. If that sounds strange, it's because it is. Don't believe us? Watch it and decide for yourself.

Not many details have been revealed about Death Stranding, but what we do know is that it's an action game. Surprise, surprise! In an interview with Famitsu, a Japanese gaming magazine, Kojima said that those who like AAA games such as Uncharted and The Division will easily enjoy his new offering.

"You'll understand when you see it and play it," he added.

When asked about deciding to partner with Sony for his newest venture, Kojima said the choice came down to which company would put their faith in just a concept. Kojima Productions may be a new company, but with Kojima at the helm, offers of support from all over the globe came. However, these offers followed a Hollywood system, and Kojima was not keen on doing detailed presentations.

"SIE was who I was looking for. We get quite a lot of freedom and they're really easy to work with," he said.

Kojima's fans will undoubtedly have a field day with Death Stranding, but a timeline has not been set for the game yet, meaning it's hard to say when a release can be expected. Hey, you can't rush quality. In the meantime, fans can find comfort in hugging a Hideo Kojima pillow. Yes, it's a thing, apparently.

Other titles announced during Sony's E3 2016 press conference include God of War, The Last Guardian, Detroit: Become Human, Resident Evil VII, Crash Bandicoot, Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Spider-Man.
