Harley Quinn is making her cinematic debut in Suicide Squad, and Warner Bros. is wasting no time promoting Margot Robbie's show-stealing character.

A new, one minute trailer puts the spotlight on Quinn and her unique set of skills, namely being unpredictable, crazy and great at wielding a baseball bat. Some of the footage fans have seen before (like Quinn stealing a purse from a store window), but much of it is brand new, like a scene where Quinn battles a faceless monster in an elevator while receiving a text from the Joker that reads "I am close be ready...".

The trailer also features a fairly substantial look at some of the mysterious and deadly enemies the Suicide Squad will be facing off against in the film. Exactly what they are is unclear, but it's obvious they aren't human. They do, however, use weapons, and appear to be covered in some kind of black slime. In other words, the perfect kind of generic cannon fodder for the film's cast of character to shoot, slice and blow up in every way imaginable.

Harley Quinn's trailer comes hot on the heels of character-focused trailers for some of the other film's cast of colorful characters, including Will Smith's Deadshot and Viola Davis' Amanda Waller. Warner Bros. has a lot riding on the film given the lukewarm critical and box office reception of Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. Currently Suicide Squad is estimated to bring in more than $100 million in its opening weekend, which should no doubt allow Warner Bros. and DC Comics to breath a collective sigh of relief. The DC cinematic universe got off to a bumpy start with the Zack Synder directed Man of Steel and Batman v. Superman, but if Suicide Squad is a knock-out success, the newly created film universe could be put back on track.

In other Suicide Squad/Harley Quinn news, it was recently revealed that the film will include some kind of homage to the character's original black and red jester outfit. A suit based off her original look in Batman: The Animated Series was crafted for the film, though it sounds like Robbie won't be seen wearing it in the movie. You can read more about that here, and check out Harley Quinn's trailer below.

Suicide Squad is in theaters August 5.
