The Fossil Q Wander and Q Marshal Android Wear smartwatches are about to hit both the digital and physical storefronts.

Save the date, as they will be up for preorder on Aug. 12, and they're expected to ship out on Aug. 29, making this a big month for the watchmaker.

Introduced back in March, the Q Wander and Q Marshal made the headlines as Fossil's two new Android Wear offerings targeted at consumers who favor the design of the brand and want the benefits that the technological world has to offer.

"Fossil is known for its quality timepieces and we're proud of the seamless expansion to our wearables collection. These slim yet highly functional smartwatches reflect the elevated design of a Fossil watch while incorporating a digital experience that's important to today's customer," Jill Elliott, chief creative officer at Fossil, says.

Across the board, the two feature the same hardware components under the hood, including an always-on touch-screen display, a microphone and speaker combo and a magnetic charger unit. What's more, they both support interchangeable bands, notification vibrations, activity tracking, an automatic time zone and many others. However, it seems that neither of them has a heart rate sensor.

The only difference between the timepieces lies in the design. While they both sport the Fossil look, the Q Wander has a simpler build that consists of a smaller and sleeker frame compared with the vintage-looking Q Marshal.

Compatibility-wise, they both work with Android and iOS, and they support activity-tracking software from other sources such as Google Fit, Under Armour UA Record, Jawbone UP and MyFitness Pal.

As mentioned earlier, interested buyers can go ahead and place an order via the Q official website when it goes up on Aug. 12, and they'll get their hands on the product on Aug. 29. The smartwatches will have a starting price of $295.

Before wrapping things up, it should also be mentioned that Google is about to shut down the Together watch face for Android Wear on Sept. 30 in a bid to make way for update 2.0. As for a solid release date, the Mountain View company has yet to say, and this news probably doesn't give a good idea of when it'll go official.
