The latest video game to get a delay is South Park: The Fractured But Whole, as Ubisoft just confirmed that the game will not come out until 2017.

The satire RPG game was supposed to hit the scene on Dec. 6 of this year, but has now been delayed until sometime in the first quarter of next year.

Ubisoft officially confirmed that the new release timeframe for South Park: The Fractured But Whole is now set for Q1 2017, but doesn't offer a more specific timeframe. The first quarter runs from January to the end of March, so the game could land anytime within that interval.

Once it finally makes its debut, South Park: Fractured But Whole will make its debut on Microsoft's Xbox One, Sony's PlayStation 4 (PS4) and PCs. When it comes to the reason for this delay, Ubisoft says it wants to further refine the experience before release.

"The development team wants to make sure the game experience meets the high expectations of fans and the additional time will help them achieve this goal," says Ubisoft.

On the bright side, it's better to wait for a bit longer and have a polished game that works well rather than getting the game on time, but still with glitches and unresolved issues. Most gamers agree that delays are preferred to buggy, half-finished releases.

Revealed at the E3 2016 back in June, South Park: Fractured But Whole is a hilarious RPG game based on the immensely popular South Park animated series from Comedy Central. The first game based on the animated series launched back in 2014 as South Park: The Stick of Truth, and the new Fractured But Whole game will serve as the sequel.

In typical South Park fashion, Fractured But Whole will mock various clichés and superhero tropes, particularly focusing on Marvel's recent releases. As for the gameplay, a set of playable classes will include Psychic, Brutalist, Cyborg, Gadgeteer and Assassin.

Players will still have to assume the role of the new kid, but this time they will be able to rock a unique superhero identity. The whole game seems hilarious in its fictional quest to make billions of dollars from superhero movie franchises and some cool gameplay mechanics are bound to keep players entertained.
