Ubisoft kicked off their E3 press conference with a bang by announcing a sequel to 2014's South Park: The Stick of Truth, and the series is going from the world of elves and orcs to that of comic book super heroes.

South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker took the stage to elaborate on the new game, titled South Park: The Fractured But Whole, and in the process mostly complained about the mics they were forced to wear. The two originally said they would never make another video game after Stick of Truth, but they've now changed their minds. They told the audience and the thousands watching at home they now feel like they understand how to make a great game and had to give it another shot.

Which brings us to South Park: The Fractured But Whole. The game will use the same RPG template of Stick of Truth and players will still take on the role of "the new kid," only this time players will craft a unique super hero identity. A trailer for the game perfectly keeps the show's look and humor intact, though we didn't get to see how the game will play compared to Stick of Truth.

Curiously, Ubisoft San Francisco will be taking over development duties for the sequel, rather than the RPG veterans of Obsidian, who developed the Stick of Truth. No release date for the game was given, but considering Stick of Truth only released in 2014, expect the game to come in 2016 at the earliest. We also don't know what consoles the game will launch for, though Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC seem a given. We will just have to wait and see if the game will also release for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
