Pokémon Sun and Moon players who have completed the game can now get the Mythical Pokémon Magearna by scanning a QR code.

For those who have yet to finish the story, there's no need to worry, as The Pokémon Company says that the code will "continue to work indefinitely." That means there's no need to rush at all, and everyone can go at it on their own pace.

How To Get Magearna

Step 1: Just to be clear on what you need, beat the game first.

Step 2: Open the X menu and select QR Scanner.

Step 3: Load up the Pokémon website for Magearna's QR code or use the image below and scan it.

Step 4: Head to the Antiquities of the Ages shop located in Hau'oli City.

Step 5: Talk to the deliveryman to get Magearna.

That's pretty much it, and as anyone can imagine, getting the first Mythical Pokémon you can grab in Pokémon Sun and Moon is as easy as one-two-three.

More About Magearna

Magearna is a level 50 Steel- and Fairy-type Artificial Pokémon. Its signature Ability is Soul-Heart, and it raises its Special Attack stat whenever a Pokémon faints.

When you get Magearna, you'll see that it's holding an item called Bottle Cap, which can be used as payment to Mr. Hyper for Hyper Training.

"Magearna is a Mythical Pokémon that was created by a scientist of uncommon genius 500 years ago. Magearna has the power to perceive the emotions, thoughts, and feelings of other Pokémon. If a Pokémon is injured, Magearna will feel the other's pain and suffering and will try as hard as it can to save that Pokémon," Magearna's description reads.

A Closer Look At Magearna

The Official Pokémon Channel uploaded a video of Magearna to announce that the Mythical Pokémon is now available to trainers here and there. More than that, it also gives a glimpse of what it can do in battle.

Check out the footage below:

Don't forget that there are other rare Pokémon to be caught aside from Magearna, including Zygarde, Necrozma, the guardian deities and Ultra Beasts.

We also have other Pokémon Sun and Moon guides on where to find Eevee and Pikachu and how to evolve Eevee into Sylveon, Glaceon, Leafeon and more.
