Mophie is bringing its iconic Juice Pack Air battery cases to the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, complete with wireless charging via Mophie's Charge Force technology.
While wireless charging is becoming an increasingly popular feature in high-end smartphones, Apple's latest iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus don't have the technology. For those who find this to be an inconvenience, Mophie wants to help.
The accessory maker has officially unveiled its latest Mophie Juice Pack Air battery cases for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, extending the smartphones' battery life and equipping them with wireless charging capabilities at the same time.
iPhone 7/ 7 Plus Mophie Juice Pack Air
The Mophie Juice Pack Air for the iPhone 7 costs $99.95 and adds a 2,525 mAh battery, extending the smartphone's battery life by up to 27 hours. The iPhone 7 Plus battery pack, meanwhile, comes with a 2,420 mAh battery, adding up to 33 hours of talk time, at the same $99.95 price point.
The new cases work with all other Mophie Charge Force accessories, magnetically aligning with the wireless charging base, desk mount, vent mount and Charge Force Powerstation battery. The Mophie Juice Pack Air cases are also compatible with Qi and other standards for wireless charging.
The cases feature a two-piece slider design, a matte finish and several color options such as Black, Gold, Rose Gold, Navy Blue and Product (Red). As expected, the cases do make the smartphones slightly bulkier and heavier, but the extra juice could be worth the extra chunk in times of low-battery distress.
For iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus owners who don't have any wireless charging solutions, the Mophie Juice Pack Air case can be charged with a micro-USB cable and supports pass-through, prioritizing the iPhone charging followed by the battery case charging.
The Juice Pack Air case also sports four LEDs on its rear to show its current battery level at a quick press of a button, while a long press turns the phone charging from the case on or off.
Accessories
Mophie is selling its Charge Force bases, mounts and battery separately, so these accessories are not included with the purchase of the Juice Pack Air. Nevertheless, the company typically offers a discount on accessories if purchased along with a Juice Pack Air case.
Otherwise, the Juice Battery Pack alone can also do the trick, and it might come especially in handy for iPhone users affected by the iOS battery bug.
