Samsung has always prided its Note range of smartphones as powerhouses with big screens and an S Pen, geared for the business-oriented individual who wants to get things done. While the Note 7 broke that promise with its scandalous battery problems, Samsung now hopes to undo that blunder with the Note 8.

New Alleged Galaxy Note 8 Render Leaks

Samsung followed the Note 7 with the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus, two of this year's most excellent, top-of-the-line smartphones. But it won't leave the Note line behind. Rumors for the Note 8 already run rampant, but a brand-new leak now gives us a look at what it could look like.

SlashLeaks has obtained a new but alleged Note 8 render, which ties in perfectly with the official Galaxy Note 8 cases from Olixar. As you can see from the render, the Note 8 might also sport the Infinity Display and it might even fill a larger percentage of the body than that of the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus.

The renders align with multiple reports saying that Galaxy Note 8 will sport a huge and enormous 6.3-inch display, 0.6 inches larger than the Note 7.

Putting an Infinity Display on the Note 8 is a logical move, since Samsung typically applies the tech introduced in the Galaxy S line with the launch of each Note handset later in the year. How Note stalwarts react to the enormous screen remains to be seen, however.

All told, Samsung beefing up its Note 8 flagship makes a lot of sense as Apple's forthcoming iPhone 8 flagship looms nearer and nearer. Naturally, the company needs to step its game up if it wants to share the spotlight with the iPhone 8, and what this essentially means for us consumer is an even more interesting smartphone wars going forward.

Galaxy Note 8 Rumors

Lots of rumors about the Note 8 run amok, chief of them being that the fingerprint scanner will still be located at the back of the phone — a similar setup to the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus that's not at all revered.

Details about its specs remain slim, although you should expect Samsung to go all out with this phone in terms of power. Rumors say it'll be priced more than $1,000, with an Aug. 26 release date. But as usual, take all rumors with a grain of salt.
