Activision and Sledgehammer Games has officially released the Call of Duty: WWII Nazi Zombies trailer, revealing a seriously horrifying experience that is the exact opposite of the humorous and funky Zombies in Spaceland mode of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.

A version of the Call of Duty: WWII Nazi Zombies trailer was actually leaked a few days ago, and while that spoiled the surprise for some gamers, there is nothing like the real thing.

Call Of Duty: WWII Nazi Zombies Is 'One Hell Of A Horror Experience'

The Call of Duty: WWII Nazi Zombies trailer, released at the San Diego Comic-Con, provides an in-depth look at the latest version of the popular zombie co-op mode of the Call of Duty franchise.

According to an Activision blog post, Call of Duty: WWII Nazi Zombies will transport players into a labyrinth filled with Nazi experiments and monstrous creations, mythically set in World War II.

"The story unfolds as an international team peels back the vile layers of a malevolent plot masterminded by the Axis powers to harness unimaginable occult forces and create an invincible undead army," Activision wrote. The zombie mode features the voices and likenesses of Doctor Who's David Tennant, G.I. Joe: Retaliation's Elodie Yung, Vikings's Katheryn Winnick, Blade's Udo Kier, and Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation's Ving Rhames. The team was given the mission to recover priceless art pieces, but what they find is something more sinister.

Glen Schofield, the general manager and cofounder of Sledgehammer Games, said that the team injected "an incredible amount of myth and lore" into Call of Duty: WWII Nazi Zombies that will take players to "very dark, grim places."

"This is one hell of a horror experience," Schofield added, setting the tone for what players can expect from the zombie mode. The Call of Duty: WWII Nazi Zombies trailer provides a good glimpse at the creepy experience awaiting players, with bloody environments and frightening zombies that are on the opposite end of the spectrum compared to the funky zombies of Zombies in Spaceland.

Call Of Duty: WWII Set To Launch Nov. 3

Call of Duty: WWII Nazi Zombies, however, is just one aspect of Call of Duty: WWII, which is set to launch on Nov. 3 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Call of Duty: WWII, revealed in April, brings the series "back to its roots" with a more grounded version focused on traditional combat, compared to previous iterations with a futuristic setting that did not resonate well with players.
