A trailer for Call of Duty: WWII Zombies has leaked, and naturally, the developers aren't too pleased about it.

Earlier this month, Activision and Sledgehammer Games announced they'll be unveiling a new Zombie mode for Call of Duty: WWII at the San Diego Comic-Con later this July. Well, because we're essentially living in an information age where all things get leaked, plans have changed.

Call Of Duty: WWII Zombies Trailer Leaks, Developers Fume

Activision is now aggressively trying to pull down the trailer wherever it pops up online, which, to be honest, is sort of impossible. We won't link to the leaked trailer out of respect for Activision, but searching for it on YouTube will give you all sorts of results.

Sledgehammer Games acknowledged the leak, posting on Twitter:

"Leaks aren't ideal, but know that we appreciate the support. We're almost done with the Nazi Zombies Trailer. Hang tight, it'll be worth it!"

Needless to say that the creators of Call of Duty: WWII aren't too happy about the whole thing. Michael Condrey and Glen Schofield, cofounders of Sledgehammer Games, both urged fans to stay away from the leaked trailer. There's also some implication that the leaked trailer might not be the final version, so there's a chance fans will see a different, presumably more polished one at Comic-Con.

The leak certainly spoils the months-long buildup to the official reveal. Sledgehammer Games even dropped clues for fans to decrypt, leading them to the campaign's locations and heroes. More recently, it had begun posting cryptic and gritty images depicting the zombies.

If you want to deliberately avoid the trailer but ache to know what it's about, then a written description might just be enough to satiate you. The trailer features images of some sort of Nazi bunker, laced with a voice-over who claims to have created a Zombie Fourth Reich. Then the zombies are shown, which appear to be more decrepit and gruesome than their traditional depictions in other media.

Activision and Sledgehammer Games will unveil Call of Duty: WWII Zombies this coming July 20 at Comic-Con. It's supposed to be an hour-long panel, so the developers might be planning to share a lot more information alongside the preview.
