At Gamescom 2016, Activision unveiled Zombies in Spaceland, which is the new survival-themed co-op zombies mode that will be featured in the upcoming shooter Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.

While Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will take place in a futuristic setting, Zombies in Spaceland will take players back to the '80s in a co-op mode that will feature the talents of Paul Reubens, largely known for his role as Pee-wee Herman, and The Hoff himself, David Hasselhoff.

In Zombies in Spaceland, players will take on the roles of four aspiring actors who decide to audition in a mysterious movie theater. The invitation was sent by Willard Wyler, a director who was once a big name in the horror industry, portrayed with the likeness and voice of Reubens. The actors will find themselves being dropped directly into the new movie, and they will have to fight through a zombie-infested '80s space-themed amusement park for their survival.

The four characters will take on roles usually seen in '80s movies, specifically the jock, the nerd, the rapper and the valley girl. The characters are voiced by a cast of comedic actors, namely Ike Barinholtz from Suicide Squad as A.J. the jock, Seth Green from Austin Powers as Poindexter the nerd, and Jay Pharoah and Sasheer Zamata, both from Saturday Night Live, as Andre the rapper and Sally the valley girl.

To aid the players in their quest to survive the zombie horde, the Spaceland DJ will provide assistance. The DJ will be portrayed with the likeness and voice of Hasselhoff.

Players who are looking to the Zombies in Spaceland mode will be able to receive a special pack upon pre-ordering any edition of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. The package contains bonus in-game zombie-themed items such as a weapon camo, a reticle and an animated calling card, along with a Fate & Fortune card pack. In addition, players will also be receiving a reimagined version of the classic multiplayer map Terminal.

For those who are interested in learning more about Zombies in Spaceland, Pharoah will be hosting a livestream on the Twitch and YouTube channels of Call of Duty on Aug. 17, 9:00 a.m. PT.

Activision confirmed earlier in the year that there will be a zombie mode in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, but did not provide any additional details. With the futuristic theme of the title, most players might have expected to see zombies in space, and not in an '80s amusement park.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will launch for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on Nov. 4.
