Nintendo has unveiled its official schedule for the upcoming E3 2018, and unsurprisingly, the spotlight will be on the highly anticipated Super Smash Bros. for the Nintendo Switch.

The Electronic Entertainment Expo, or E3, will run from June 12 to June 14 in Los Angeles. Nintendo will again be part of the annual event, which gamers attend to hear the biggest announcements in the video game industry and to try out upcoming titles.

Nintendo E3 2018 Plans: Super Smash Bros., Mostly

Nintendo senior product manager Bill Trinen previously revealed that there will be a Super Smash Bros. tournament at E3 2018. Nintendo has officially confirmed the tournament through a blog post detailing its plans for the annual event.

Nintendo will kick off E3 2018 a day earlier on June 11, when the opening rounds of the Splatoon 2 World Championship tournament will be played. The finals of that tournament will take place on June 12 and will immediately be followed by the Super Smash Bros. Invitational 2018 tournament. Nintendo will also be inviting attendees who come dressed as their favorite Nintendo characters to be among the first people in the world to play Super Smash Bros. for the Nintendo Switch.

Super Smash Bros. will also be featured in a video presentation on the morning of June 12, which will include Nintendo games that will be released this year. Super Smash Bros. will then kick off Nintendo Treehouse: Live for E3 2018, which will also include gameplay, developer appearances, and insider looks for other Nintendo titles.

Throughout E3 2018, Super Smash Bros. for the Nintendo Switch will also be playable at the Nintendo booth, while third-party games for the hybrid console will make appearances across several Nintendo activities. Meanwhile, at the Nintendo NY store, streaming content will show E3 2018 live. Visitors will also be allowed to play games featured at the Nintendo booth.

E3 2018 Speculations For Nintendo

Super Smash Bros. might be the star of Nintendo's presence at E3 2018, but Nintendo Switch owners will likely be looking forward to what else Nintendo might announce at the annual event.

The biggest thing that Nintendo Switch players are looking forward to remains the long-rumored Pokémon RPG, which has been speculated to feature all-new eighth-generation Pokémon with a release date of this year's holiday season.

Other upcoming Nintendo Switch games that may appear at E3 2018 include Metroid Prime 4, Bayonetta 3, a new Fire Emblem game, and Yoshi.
