Some viewers did not like how the special gravy was made; one of them even said that it is "grim." Meanwhile, others seem okay with it, asking if those who were disgusted know how the gravy is typically made. The employee even said that KFC gravy is actually made in a clean way.

"This is so much better than I thought it was made. Can't imagine what some people in the comments would think if they saw how normal gravy is made," said another commentator.

"Never having this gravy from kfc again," commented another TikTok user.

In the video, the KFC staff can be seen pouring a large jug of water into a substance that looks like soil. They call this "crackling," which is stored in the fridge.

The TikTok user under the name Cheddar (cheddar4.7) said that the brown substance in the plastic container was the chicken bits that fall at the fryer's bottom.

How KFC gravy is made

The video showed that the staff pours water in the Tupperware to break down the brown gunge. After that, a sachet of gravy spices is poured into the plastic container and then whisked together.

The sauce is placed in the oven for 18 minutes and then mixed again before pouring it into the strainer to filter the chicken bits. Once it is properly sieved, the gravy is placed in the small red-topped gravy containers.

The employee said that the special sauce can be kept in a hot "cabinet" for up to 6 hours. The recipe-reveal received 570,000 views, 6,227 likes, and 135 comments.

Cheddar also shared a series of behind the scenes clips from the KFC branch he works at. These include making mini fillets, fillet burgers, and more.
