Getting a PS5 restock is extremely hard, and now, with paying membership required, things could get a bit more difficult. One might agree that the PS5 available stock is something that a lot of gamers are watching out for despite the console launching back in November of 2020.

Buyers vs Scalpers

The first big problem that gamers are now experiencing is that they have to fight against scalpers that reportedly use robots in order to buy the stock online! With robots automatically notifying scalpers and even placing in orders for them, the playing field from the start isn't fair. These scalpers then resell the PS5 stock online at marked up prices.

Sometimes, however, buying a PS5 online stock from a scalper can be cheaper than another trend now. Basically, some online retailers are selling bundles of things that aren't really attractive to buyers. Buyers then would have to purchase the PS5 stock online at bundles where they might not want the inclusions.

Global Chip Shortage

The major problem affecting the supply end of the PS5 stock online is the global chip shortage. With manufacturing and production being more difficult due to the scarcity of one of the most critical materials when it comes to the console, steady supply can't be expected to happen any time soon.

Sony has announced that the problematic supply will become a consistent well into next year, according to The Verge. This shakes the whole playing field since most gamers anticipated that by some time this year, the problematic supply will be fixed. Now, it seems like gamers will have to either wait or try to find better ways to get the PS5 restock online.

PS5 Official Price

Sometimes, some would say it might be more efficient to buy from scalpers depending on how high they jack up the price. Of course, some scalpers go overboard and sell the PS5 stock online for as high as $1,199 when the SRP should be around just $499!

For those trying to buy the console, following a PS5 restock tracker on Twitter will at least give notifications as to when new consoles are available online. A PS5 restock twitter account well known for providing notifications on when new stock becomes available announced that there is a new GameFly PS5 restock. The problem, however, was found in a reply to the Tweet.

Membership Required?

According to Sterling Perry @SterlingPerry8, the PS5 is available but it is only purchasable by members. One thing that the user emphasized was that it was for "paying" members. The thing about the membership is that it requires users to at least be a member for 30 days!

With memberships required to GameFly, it will be more accessible to those that already have one but for others, getting a membership could be impractical. This totally depends if they have any use for GameFly at all aside from potentially buying a PS5 restock online.
