Alongside the announcement of the New Nintendo 3DS XL coming to America next month, Nintendo also spilled the beans on a number of new projects fans can expect to see in 2015 and beyond during its Nintendo Direct event.

First among them is a brand new Fire Emblem game. The game has no official title, release date or any specific details, but Nintendo did show a brief teaser trailer. It looks like the good ol' Fire Emblem fans have come to expect, and considering Fire Emblem: Awakening is one of the 3DS's best titles, fans should have a lot to look forward to.

Another surprise announcement came in the form of Nintendo's interactive Amiibo toy line. For months, certain Amiibo's (specifically Marth of Fire Emblem fame) have been near impossible to find at retail due to small supply. The result has been Marth figures going for more than triple the retail price on eBay and other online sites. Nintendo is finally getting its act together, announcing that the Marth Amiibo will get a second run. Along with Marth will be a number of new Amiibos coming throughout the year. More Fire Emblem characters will be coming in the form of Rob and Lucina, as well as Wario, Pac-Man, Ness from Earthbound and Charizard from Pokemon.

Up until this point, all of Nintendo's Amiibo's have been specifically tailored for Super Smash Bros., but Nintendo will be debuting a new line of Amiibos come March with the release of Mario Party 10 for the Wii U. The Super Mario Bros. line of Amiibo toys will release March 20 with Mario, Luigi, Toad, Peach, Yoshi and Bowser.

Thankfully Nintendo wasn't done yet. A number of smaller game announcements came as well, such as news that Nintendo will be bringing the Xenoblade 3DS port currently only available in Japan to the U.S. in April. Nintendo will also be releasing several puzzle titles. One, Mario vs. Donkey Kong Tipping Stars, will feature cross-buy, so that players who purchase the game on the Wii U (or 3DS) will also receive a copy for the other console. The 3DS will also be getting a free-to-play Pokemon puzzle game called Pokemon Shuffle and a Puzzle & Dragons bundle game that will include Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Edition.

That's a whole lot of news for Nintendo fans. Best start saving up now, because with a new 3DS, more Amiibos and a number of promising springtime releases, it's going to be an expensive few months to be a Nintendo gamer. You can watch the entire hour-long Nintendo Direct below.
