Pirelli, an icon of Italian industry famous for providing Formula One racing tyres, return to Milan's stock after it withdrew from the stock exchange two years ago after it was taken over by China National Chemical Corp (ChemChina). Italian tire maker Pirelli set a share price for its stock market return in Europe's biggest IPO this year, valuing the company at a total 6.5 billion euros ($7.7 billion).

Pirelli EV Tire: All Season Plus with Elect Marking

The Italy-based tire maker, Pirelli, debuted its first-ever electric vehicle tire replacement, which it vows to provide various benefits primarily for EVs, as per a news story by Teslarati.

The new P Zero All Season Plus with the Elect marking will release in various sizes, which most high-performance EVs carry, starting from 18 inches wheels up to 20 inches.

The Chief Technical Officer of Pirelli North America, Ian Coke, said that a tire for EVs "requires a number of considerations you do not encounter when working with internal combustion engines.

The Pirelli exec went on to say that EVs are actually heavier than fuel-powered cars. However, electric counterparts usually have more power and "faster acceleration off the line. Thus, Coke says EVs need lower rolling resistance.

The Italian tire maker previously produced an EV-specific tire for the upcoming Lucid Air, according to a report by Electrek. But the new Elect tire is the first replacement offering of Pirelli.

Pirelli EV Tire and Longer Battery Range

That said, the new Elect marking of Pirelli, which now comes with its P Zero All Season Plus tire, comes with several distinctions that make it best for EVs.

The first EV tire replacement of the Italian tire maker vows to give EVs an improved battery range due to its specialized low rolling resistance characteristic.

The Pirelli tire should, in turn, reduce the energy consumption of the EV, increasing the overall battery range of the car, due to its promised lower rolling resistance.

On top of that, Teslarati noted in the same report that the Pirelli tire with Elect marking is said to be best fitted into long-range EVs, namely the Tesla Model S All-Wheel Drive and the Lucid Air Dream Edition.

A Tesla model S sits parked in a new Tesla showroom and service center in Red Hook, Brooklyn on July 5, 2016 in New York City. The electric car company and its CEO and founder Elon Musk have come under increasing scrutiny following a crash of one of its electric cars while using the controversial autopilot service. Joshua Brown crashed and died in Florida.

The electric car tire should then make these vehicles impressively more efficient than ever as it vows to lessen the overall road contact.

To be more precise, Pirelli claims that its new EV replacement tire lessens the rolling resistance of electric cars by at least 15 percent.

Pirelli EV Tire Features

What's more, the all-new EV tire of Pirelli also reduces the road noise through its "Pirelli Noise Cancelling System," bringing a more soothing cabin experience for its owners.

Not to mention that the new tire also promises better driving comfort for EV owners, along with grip, which is best for fast accelerations.
