LG is offering the public access to an NFT Marketplace via its smart televisions with the Art Lab application that it recently launched today, making the service more accessible for all. It allows people to buy, sell, and trade tokens right on the display technology without needing to use computers or smartphones to access platforms that sell the non-fungible tokens.

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA - JANUARY 08: LG Signature OLED TV R televisions are displayed at the LG booth at CES 2019 at the Las Vegas Convention Center on January 8, 2019 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Yes, that is right. LG announced the arrival of an NFT Marketplace called "Art Lab" for its smart television ventures, seeing the platform as an app on its menu page.

The company's new Art Lab platform is available for the United States region only, particularly for those with their LG smart TVs that run webOS 5.0 or later. Users may download the Art Lab application for direct access on the NFT platform direct to their television displays, focusing on trading it right on their devices.

Older versions of the software and televisions that cannot upgrade to 5.0 or later may not be able to download the Art Lab from the company.

According to The Verge, LG's first NFT drops will happen by September 22, bringing artworks from Barry X Ball.

LG Art Lab vs. Samsung NFT

LG is rivaling co-South Korean multi-technology company, Samsung, on the NFT platforms directly available from smart TVs. Samsung first announced the NFT Marketplace for its smart TVs where users may directly buy, sell, and trade the tokens last May.

NFT is now available in most modern technologies in the world, also expanding platforms to televisions and the like.

LG's Tech for All

The South Korean tech manufacturer, LG, brings a significant number of technology available for all, and it aims to deliver on many consumer needs including display technology, batteries, and other ventures of the company. LG is famous for its smart home focus that heavily centers on its display tech, mainly with its OLED Smart TVs that offer a cinematic experience

LG's smartphone development already bid farewell last year, and a supposed expanding display technology known as "LG Rollable" did not make it to a public release despite massive interest.

Still, previous smartphones from LG like the "LG Wing" is seeing continued support to access 5G and the new C-band spectrum, particularly from Verizon.

The company's repurposing and new focus center on its smart TV display technology, as well as other products from LG. NFT integration for smart TVs is not new as Samsung already announced this earlier this year, but its growing industry sees a take from LG to focus on Art Lab, promoting the token trade for televisions directly.
