Pokemon Go players can finally get a chance to get Shadow Mewtwo in the upcoming Rocket Takeover event.

Last week, the Pokemon Go community was busy with the Greedy Gluttons event, which introduced both Guzzlord and shiny Munchlax to the game. However, gamers will have to take on a new challenge titled Rocket Takeover from Nov. 14 to Nov. 20.

A new Special Research story will be available during the event, where players will receive a Super Rocket Radar and chase down Team Rocket head Giovanni. Players will also see the return of Shadow Mewtwo, who first appeared in a past Special Research questline titled an 'Inter-egg-sting Development,' according to Win.

With many shadow Pokemon and rewards up for grabs, Pokemon GO players will now want to miss out on the opportunity, so read our guide to find out how to clear the Rocket Takeover event.

Pokemon Go Guide: How to Track Giovanni and Catch Shadow Mewtwo

Starting Nov. 14, Pokemon Go players can take part in a new Special Research story from the Rocket Takeover event. After completing the story, players will receive the Super Rocket Radar, which they can use to track down Giovanni and the captured Shadow Mewtwo.

The Special Research story featuring Team Rocket head Giovanni will be available to complete through Dec. 1 when the Season of Light comes to an end. Battling Giovanni on one of these days will give players a chance to catch Shadow Mewtwo.

According to Real Sport 101, since Shadow Mewtwo is a psychic type, players are recommended to utilize dark types such as Houndoom, Absol, and Weavile or ghost types such as Banette, Mismagius, and Gengar. This would let players take down Shadow Mewtwo quickly and add it to their Pokemon roster.

Team Go Rocket Grunts will appear more frequently at PokeStops and balloons during the event, which players will have to battle to receive limited-time rewards. An event bonus will also enable players to use a Charged TM to help a Shadow Pokémon forget the Charged Attack Frustration.

  • Shadow Alolan Diglett
  • Shadow Onix
  • Shadow Natu
  • Shadow Wailmer
  • Shadow Golett

Additionally, Pokemon Go players will also have the chance to receive 12 km eggs by defeating the Team GO Rocket leaders in the event. The following Pokemon can hatch from the eggs after players walk the required distance:

  • Absol (shiny)
  • Skorupi (shiny)
  • Sandile
