"Grand Theft Auto VI" recently got a leak regarding a massive development for the sequel, centering on the return of the main character from "GTA V" to arrive soon on the upcoming title. Leakers and speculators were quick to spot this from Rockstar Games' own words, particularly on the recent "GTA Online" update which the company dropped.

While this leak may be a longshot, considering that "GTA V's" events took place in the fictional Los Angeles, California version of Rockstar, Los Santos, leakers are still intent on this latest information.

According to ComicBook Gaming, the latest update to "Grand Theft Auto Online" from Rockstar had led people towards a possible return of a main character to the sequel game. There are three main characters from "GTA V" that users may choose from and play, including Michael De Santa, Franklin Clinton, and Trevor Phillips.

However, among those three, one name was highlighted in the online game's update, with Trevor Phillips mentioned by the company in debuting its latest "Los Santos Drug War" arc.

The release said "Ron Jakowski is so paranoid that friends say he lines the inside of his bucket hat with aluminum foil, but Nervous Ron is onto something for real this time. With Trevor gone, he's discovered the seedy psychedelic underworld of the Fooliganz. He'll be in touch shortly with an invitation, and you'll get a chance to join the circus."

ComicBook Gaming argued that the mention of Trevor in the update left people wondering about where the character has gone, maybe to Vice City, or only explaining that he would not be in the game with his pal, Nervous Ron.

Rockstar Games' Latest Update on 'GTA Online'

The latest "GTA Online" update is giving players a chance to experience another story mode experience on the game with the "Los Santos Drug Wars" centering on three different characters to play. It centers on a new gang called "The Fooliganz," including its leader, Dax; the team's muscle, Luchadora; Labrat, the team chemist; and Nervous Ron.

The 'Grand Theft Auto' Franchise

There are currently sixteen games in the "Grand Theft Auto" franchise, and it is unknown when the company plans to drop its 17th game, the one that will continue the track for its main installation releases. In the past months and years, there has been massive speculation regarding the famous "Grand Theft Auto 6," as fans are already aching to get word of the next game.

Despite the intense pressure from fans and enthusiasts of the franchise, Rockstar Games remain mum about its game development, still not having any teasers, confirmations, or reveals of the next game.

Last year saw a massive release from Rockstar, but it is not the sequel to its series, but the company's remastered trilogy of famous titles that made the series a worldwide success. It featured "Grand Theft Auto III," "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas," and "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City," which are now available to play via modern gaming consoles.

Rockstar Games had a lot of time since its release of "GTA V" in 2013, and considering that it is nearly turning a decade next year, gamers want its next installation already.

However, gamers have to wait for its official confirmation and what it will bring soon, with leaks like Trevor making an appearance in the sequel and others remaining speculations that should be taken with a grain of salt.
