Sony is set to ignite the stage at CES once more this coming January with some exciting new breakthroughs in its PlayStation VR technology, as well as its Vision S concept vehicle made in tandem with Honda. The press conference is already set and scheduled for January 4, 2023, at 5:00 p.m., whereupon the firm will once again debut its sporty EV and go over additional details on its highly anticipated VR headwear.

At last year's CES, Sony's concept car, the Vision S, was a major hallmark of the show. The EV features a top speed of 149 mph, 536 hp, and a 0 to 60 acceleration potential of 4.6 seconds, making it a unique entry in the EV market. It also sports a total of four seats and, though still a concept vehicle, is a promising new venture for Sony as it spears headlong into the automotive market.

The division designing and distributing the ride is called Sony Honda Mobility, as Honda is aiding the tech firm in its underlying automotive endeavors. Honda is aiding Sony specifically in its continued efforts beyond the Vision S to deliver electric vehicles starting in 2025. The Vision S acts as the poster child of this very collaboration.

The Vision-S and Honda Mobility itself are being billed as direct competitors to Elon Musk's Tesla, a valiant effort for both Japanese companies as they look to enrich and modify the EV ecosystem. Sony is looking to make autonomous driving a pivotal feature of its concept ride, along with several other enticing extras, like sensory device support and always-on connectivity.

Not much else is known about the Vision S, aside from its SUV 02 counterpart. CES 2023 is a prime moment to enlighten interested consumers about the concept car's various unknowns, the most prominent among them being price, potential availability, and safety metrics.

Both Honda and Sony have confirmed the debut of their first car come CES 2023, highlighting both Level 3 and Level 2+ autonomous driving capabilities, subscription service payments, and a PlayStation 5, of course. No name has thus far been given to the vehicle, but the upcoming trade show will most certainly be in awe when it appears on stage with Kenichiro Yoshida in tow.

As for Sony's PS VR2 venture, which also made a slight appearance last year, it stands to reason that a longer demo and peek inside its design is slated for CES. Throughout the year, PlayStation has released several bits of information surrounding the headwear, with the most recent news giving notice of its February 2023 release date

With CES 2023 being so close to the headset's release, there's no doubt the firm has some interesting showcases with its PS VR2. The most exciting feature surrounding the VR headset is the haptic capabilities of its controllers. The PS5 DuelSense leverage similar technology that will no doubt be expanded upon for the VR project.

At $549.99, in addition to the PS5's starting price of $500, it has to be worth the investment. In accordance with that, what games can PS VR2 players expect upon its debut next February? The title that took center stage at last year's CES was Horizon Call of the Mountain, a seven-hour experience made by both Firesprite Studios and Guerilla Games, but there's also Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy's EdgeResident Evil 4No Man's SkyAmong Us VR, and plenty more

Hopefully, Sony has a PS VR2 demo booth in store for enthusiasts at CES 2023 and a bit more information surrounding available games. It appears that the Vision S and Sony Honda Mobility announcements are essential, as it fits better for the general audience of the upcoming trade show.
