Google's Fiber offers now makes its 5 GB subscription tier available, and this means that through the company's service, users may now enjoy this massive internet speed in select cities. Currently, four cities are included on Google's service coverages for its internet subscription, using terrestrial lines to bring its service.

The internet company brought this service on the famous international romance holiday, Valentine's Day 2023, allowing users to opt for a new internet service.

After initially teasing back in 2022 that its services are expanding this year, Google Fiber announced that its 5 GB internet is now available for the public. In this surprise, Valentine's Day reveals, the internet speed expansion for subscribers is now available to either avail as a new customer or upgrade their plans to a higher speed.

According to Nick Saporito, Head of Multi-gig and Commercial Product at Google, "5 Gig is designed to handle the demands of heavy internet users - for example, creative professionals, people working in the cloud or with large data, households with large shared internet demands."

The speed expansion centers on delivering faster internet download and upload speeds simultaneously, and it already comes with a 10 Gig jack to anticipate future upgrades to its service.

How Much is Google's New 5 GB Internet

According to Google, 5 GB internet is available for $125 per month, close to current internet prices, offering the same speeds in the market.

5 Gig is available in four cities in this recent launch, including Kansas City, West Des Moines, and across Utah cities. Google said it would soon expand to other areas and cities in the US.

Google Fiber and its Internet Service

One of the most famous internet services in the country is arguably an entry from Big Tech, and Google is famous for its "Google Fiber" service for what it brings the public. It is part of the internet company's quest to offer an alternative connection for the web needs in different households or offices in the country, depending on its coverage area.

2020 was a massive year for Google Fiber, especially as it offered different updates to the service, and one is the removal of the traditional TV bundles on its internet.

This was also the year when it first provided an upgrade to different areas, centering on its 2 GB offers for Tenessee and Alabama.

Fiber internet is still among the fastest terrestrial services available, despite the many offers, including 5G internet at home or satellite connectivity. Google Fiber's latest offer centers on its pilot program in four cities which may now tap into 5 GB speeds with the Santa Monica giant to deliver the heavily-used internet connections.
