Robots ready to produce the new Mini Cooper are pictured during a tour of the BMW's plant at Cowley in Oxford, central England, on November 18, 2013. Car giant BMW, which has been manufacturing the Mini since 2001, has finally taken the wraps off the new Mini that will be available in the UK in Spring 2014.

2 Battery Options

According to Electrek, the new Mini will have two battery options-40kWh and 54kWh. There are no official range estimates yet on the EPA cycle, it's estimated that the battery options will provide 300 and 400km of range on WLTP test cycles.

The smaller battery will have the same 181hp/135kW motor, similar to the current Cooper SE. On the other hand, the upgraded 54kWh battery will get a power bump up to 215hp/160Kw.

It is known that the company wants to provide customers with a John Cooper Works model with more power. This time, the electric model will get the JCW version but it will come in 2025.

Still a Gas-Powered Model?

Mini will no completely phase out a gas-powered model because they will still make one. However, they expect that they electric vehicle make up to 50 percent of sales by 2025.

The company has plans to go all-electric and stop selling gasoline-powered vehicles by 2030, with its last gas model to be introduced in 2025. To achieve this, the company needs a high electric mix if it wants to reach its goal.

What Does It Look Like?

The new design of the refreshed Cooper is still being kept under wraps. One thing we do known is its yellow-and back camouflage. It can be recalled that in December 2021, photos resurfaced of a completely uncamouflaged Mini in China.

The new Mini is being built with Great Wall Motor as a result of the agreement between BMW and Great Wall Motor in 2018.

The photos revealed significant changes on the exterior design. There is also a noticeable change on the taillights and a larger rimless center screen.

The new MINI will be officially called the Cooper instead of Hardtop or Hatch. It will also feature a wider track, shorter front overhang, longer wheelbase, and larger wheels, according to InsideEVs.

The new electric vehicle is part of BMW's commitment to electrifying its lineup and reducing its carbon footprint. BMW and Great Wall Motor plan to introduce more electric vehicles in the years to come, with the goal of becoming a leading player in the electric vehicle industry.

BMW has stated that this new collaboration will bring more efficient production processes while still maintaining the highest standards in safety, reliability and performance associated with Mini vehicles over time.

With its combination of style, powertrain efficiency, technology advancements - all wrapped into one compact package - it looks set to become one of the most popular cars available today!
