The team at Brooklyn-based Tarform is looking to take their success with the Luna electric motorcycle and take it to new waters. They aim to launch a zero-emissions electric watercraft that combines sport and art, inspired by manta rays gliding across the ocean.

Bringing Thrilling Energy of the Luna Motorcycle to the Water with the Raye

The new watercraft is called the Raye, and it looks like a work of art - with its eye-like front lights, curves, and tail-like seat. The Brooklyn-based electric vehicle company, Tarform, plans to bring the thrilling energy of its Luna electric motorcycle to the water with the Raye.

Featuring a design inspired by the manta ray, the Raye sports an all-electric water jet propulsion system and instant torque and acceleration up to a top speed of 50 mph.

Smart Intelligent Features to Complement Raye's Futuristic Design

According to the story by Interesting Engineering, unlike the Luna motorcycle, the exterior of the Raye will feature a wrinkled snout, eye-like front lights, and a tail-like seat - all giving it a slick, molten metal look.

Despite the futuristic design, Tarform still intends to keep the intelligent features of its Luna motorcycle, such as its circular digital display, built-in sensors, machine learning, and over-the-air upgrades.

Choice of Composite Bodywork for Sustainable Electric PWCs

It will also include two power/range models, with 70-120 horsepower and 1.5-2 hours of battery life. Furthermore, Tarform will offer the buyer their choice of composite bodywork, which can be made from plants or recycled carbon fiber, as also spotted in an article by New Atlas

Powered by the latest all-electric water jet propulsion system, the Raye PWC can accelerate to a top speed of 50 mph (80 km/h), and its built-in battery can power the vehicle for between 70 and 120 hp and lasts up to two hours, as noted in an article by Design Boom

Introducing the Raye: An Electric Motorcycle With High-Tech Features and an Estimated Price of $68,000

The Raye PWC has the same features as the Luna electric motorcycle, including the circular digital display, sensors, machine learning, and over-the-air upgrades for added intelligence and convenience.

The Raye is still in the conceptual stage, with the estimated price being $68,000. That said, Tarform is still not giving any hints about a launch date. Nevertheless, as it took them just over three years to launch the first Luna motorcycles, we could soon be in for a treat.
