Ayaneo has announced that its upcoming handheld console, dubbed Ayaneo 2S, will boast a powerful AMD processor that is also present in ASUS Rog Ally.

The Chinese console maker says that it's also arriving with notable improvements, including the addition of a three-pipe cooler.

Ayaneo 2S Could be the Next Steam Deck Rival

Steam Deck's presence in the gaming market has left other companies to think of something that could be better than it. As the console demand continues to skyrocket, it's about time for them to release their own device that will satisfy gamers in the long run.

As Engadget reports, the upcoming Ayaneo 2S handheld gaming machine will likely boast a Ryzen 7 784OU chip which is at par with Rog Ally's AMD Z1 Extreme.

Judging from its looks on the presentation, the Ayaneo 2S could borrow some features from its predecessor console. The company is aware that by enhancing the processor, it can achieve "substantial performance gains in the low TDP 8-15W gold range" compared to Ayaneo 2's 6800 chip.

This alone might suggest that we are seeing some battery life improvements for Ayaneo 2S. It's a great development, especially for players who want to keep in touch with the screen for a long time.

Aside from that, Aya says that the new console will feature a more vivid display and even more flawless triggers. Other than that, the company also vows to bring "slightly reduced temperatures" with the AMD Ryzen 7 chip.

According to Notebookcheck last week, Ayaneo has already scheduled the launch of Ayaneo 2S in late 2023, but Engadget's latest report says that it's slated for an April launch. The pre-orders will kick off in mid-May.

Ayaneo is Also Bringing Geek 1S

The presentation is not only introducing Ayaneo 2S to the gamers. Ayaneo also brings the Ayaneo Geek 1S, another handheld gaming console that is powered by the same Ryzen 7000 chip.

Although it rocks a lower-resolution 800p screen than the Ayaneo 2, it still packs some punch thanks to the new processor for next-gen gaming.

The company also announced that a free speaker upgrade is coming to Ayaneo Air. Those customers who have bought Ayaneo Geek and Ayaneo 2 will be eligible to receive a cooling module that is effective in lowering the temperature by 12 degrees. This is free for the console owners.

Meanwhile, the release of the upcoming handheld Windows PC Ayaneo Slide is still not specified, but we have high hopes that the company will reveal more information about it soon. Ayaneo Pocket is expected to go into production three months from now.
