A new concept has surfaced regarding the future look of the AirPods Max 2 or second-generation AirPods Max. This Apple device is reportedly taking design inspiration from the latest Vision Pro.

Should this concept be followed, it will be the first Apple device with the same peg as the latest mixed-reality headset from the company.  The AirPods Max was released last December 2020, and it will be three years old later this year, with speculations that its next release is likely in 2024 or 2025.

Apple AirPods Max 2 to Get Design Peg from Vision Pro

Over the weekend, a tweet from Parker Ortolani, a designer and product manager on the Vox Media brand licensing team, brought out a speculated design that centers on the next generation over-the-ear headphones from Apple, the AirPods Max 2.

In his concept images, the famed audio wearable will take on design pegs from the latest wearable, the Vision Pro, which will feature better functionality for the user.

Ortolani replaced the existing AirPods Max band with something similar to Vision Pro's headband and included a dedicated dial for adjusting the fit. He noted that this "refined design" will bring additional comfort for users.

He added that the AirPods Max's second-generation release would offer the H2 and U1 chips' new software functionality, which will bring adaptive audio as one of its new techs.

When is the Apple AirPods Max 2 Coming?

9to5Mac reported that the AirPods Max is overdue for a refresh since its release in late 2020, but Apple has yet to unveil or introduce a device that will deliver its next-gen tech.

The AirPods Max 2 is still shrouded in mystery, with no concrete information yet as to when it is coming out, but it is certainly not a left-behind tech for Apple.

Apple AirPods Max and Vision Pro

The one thing in common between the AirPods Max and the Vision Pro is that both wrap on a person's head, but the Bluetooth headphones do this over the top of one's head and the Vision Pro on its back.

The AirPods Max was announced by Apple around the Christmas season in 2020, surprising fans and analysts about the new wearable device.

Moreover, both devices are known to be premium releases from Apple, with hefty price tags that are significantly higher than other releases from the company, despite being wearables. The AirPods Max was released with a $549 price tag, while the Vision Pro comes almost six times more as Apple introduced it at $3,499.99.

One thing is sure with the AirPods Max 2 device and it will be another premium release from the company that features high-end specs, making it another sought-after tech for the public.

With the reported design cues from the Vision Pro, this speculation looks into pairing both devices for a better experience, one that does not need to use the built-in speakers from the AR/VR headset.
