Meta has been ramping up its efforts on Horizon Worlds but as it lost billions in 2022, the company might be changing its strategy by opening up the headset to other uses. One of these changes includes adding access to Roblox, which some consider as a metaverse game, which is finally available on the platform.

Meta to Allow Users to Use Roblox on Their Meta Quest VR Headset

According to the story by The Verge, fans of Roblox who have the Meta Quest VR headset will finally be able to play the game via virtual reality. It's important to note that this remains in the beta phase, with the official version expected to come later on.

However, fans are still free to download the app, which remains in beta, on the Meta Quest VR headset in order to try out the content. It was noted that Roblox remains in open beta on the headset which was announced by both Meta and Roblox earlier in July.

As described by The Verge, the announcement gave fans word of how the "social metaverse platform" would become available on the headset sometime soon. Finally, the open beta allows users to try out the game on their own Meta headsets.

How to Play Roblox on the Meta Quest VR Headsets

In order to experience the game on the user's Quest device, they would first have to go to the Quest Store, which is technically already available through Meta's App Lab. It was also noted that once users are already in their headsets, the next move would be for them to sign into their Roblox account.

Once signed in, players can finally start exploring Roblox but in VR mode. It was also noted that users can't really make a Roblox account through the Quest. This was according to the Roblox developer forum, which means that users would have to create a new account through a different device.

It was also noted that since the app remains in beta mode, both Roblox and Meta are still giving developers a chance to test out the game and find ways to make the experience more optimized for VR. This was because there are still some issues that Roblox is already still working on.

Some Known Issues that Players Will Experience When Trying Roblox on the Meta Quest VR Headsets

Some of the issues that users might experience include not being able to purchase Robux, not getting recommended experiences, and also experiencing distortion when it comes to graphics. There could also be additional issues but most of them are still up for the users to experience within the beta version of the game on the Meta Quest VR devices.

It was also noted that users will be able to open up the Roblox beta on Quest 2 as well as Quest Pro devices. This will also be available for users when the Quest 3 becomes available as Meta notes that the title would also work on the other headset.
