In the latest announcement, Snapchat+ subscribers jumped from four million in late June to five million.

Snapchat said that its subscription-based service has hit over five million subscribers. In late June, Snapchat+ managed to surpass four million users since its launch.

Snapchat+ Surpasses 5 Million Subscribers

In a testament to its growing appeal, Snapchat's subscription service for power users, Snapchat+, has exceeded five million subscribers, per Bloomberg.

Aside from achieving its four million subscribers in late June, Snapchat reached three million in mid-April. The $3.99 per month subscription offers an array of exclusive features, attracting users seeking an enhanced Snapchat experience.

Exploring Snapchat+'s Exclusive Features

Snapchat+ caters to the desires of avid users with a range of unique features.

Subscribers gain access to custom app themes, distinctive app icons, the ability to highlight their No. 1 BFF, and a toolkit to elevate their Stories or monitor rewatch statistics, among other offerings.

The demand for Snapchat+ has seen steady growth, driven by the continuous addition of enticing features. Paid users enjoy early access to Snap's cutting-edge AI products, including the My AI chatbot and the intriguing Dreams feature, a generative AI selfie experience.

Collaborative Channels and Accessibility

While Snapchat+ boasts 5 million subscribers, its revenue contribution remains a fraction of Snap's overall earnings, primarily generated through advertising, which amounted to $1.07 billion in Q2.

Nevertheless, the subscription service has outperformed similar offerings, including X Premium, formerly known as Twitter Blue, with independent research estimating approximately 1 million X subscriptions to date.

Comparatively, X, under Elon Musk's ownership, boasts 550 million monthly active users, while Snapchat reports a daily active user count of 397 million, TechCrunch reports.

Snapchat Rolls Out Safety Feature For Teens

With the prevalence of harmful stuff on social media, companies need to exert effort to protect the vulnerable users from consuming malicious content.

Snapchat said earlier this month that a new feature will make the app safer for younger users. According to CNN, a new system will now eliminate "age-appropriate" content on the platform.

Based on the report, Snapchat's new feature will target 13 to 17-year-old users. Apart from that, the app will ensure that the teens are only adding people whom they know in real life.

If they attempt to send a friend request to a stranger, a pop-up warning will appear. They will be urged to refrain from sharing their phone book contacts to someone they do not know.

"When a teen becomes friends with someone on Snapchat, we want to be confident it is someone they know in real life - such as a friend, family member, or other trusted person," Snap said in a blog post.

With this, there's more room to explore for teens where they can use Snapchat safer than before. They won't be able to access Stories that are not applicable for their age.
