Snapchat has recently announced that its subscription service, Snapchat+, has achieved an impressive milestone, surpassing 4 million subscribers, PhoneArena reports.

The launch of Snapchat+ almost a year ago has resulted in tremendous growth, attracting 1 million subscribers within just two months. 

Priced at an affordable $3.99 per month, Snapchat+ provides exclusive features not found in the free version of the app. 

Additionally, Snapchat has revealed upcoming features that will enhance the messaging experience for its premium subscribers.

Snapchat+ Surpasses 4 Million Subscribers

In a company blog post, Snapchat says the introduction of its subscription service has proven successful, as the platform has gained a substantial user base for Snapchat+. 

This accomplishment highlights the appeal of the exclusive features offered by the subscription service. 

Since its launch, Snapchat+ subscribers have enjoyed access to over 20 unique features, including the ability to customize app themes and icons and the option to prioritize their closest friend as their #1 BFF. 

The platform says the continuous addition of these features has kept subscribers engaged and satisfied.

New Snapchat Features

Building upon the success of Snapchat+, the company has exciting plans for its premium subscribers. 

One upcoming addition is "expressive chat messages," enabling users to express themselves using big reactions or small notes. 

Moreover, Snapchat+ subscribers will be able to personalize their conversations by changing the font size of their messages. 

Alongside this feature, custom chat colors will be introduced, allowing users to select their preferred hues when messaging friends. 

These upcoming features aim to provide greater customization options and enhance the communication experience for Snapchat+ subscribers.

In 2022, the company's global annual revenue exceeded $4.6 billion, showcasing a steady increase from the previous year. 

Despite some net income losses, Snap Inc. reported a positive net income of $22.5 million in the fourth quarter of 2022. 

Furthermore, Statista reports that Snapchat's average revenue per user worldwide in the first quarter of 2023 was $2.58. 

Snapchat's Audience Base 

Snapchat continues to maintain a substantial user base, with approximately 493 million users worldwide in 2022, projected to exceed 500 million by 2025. 

India holds the largest Snapchat audience, with more than 200 million users, followed by the United States, with 100+ million users. 

Globally, women slightly outnumber men, comprising 51 percent of the user base as of January 2022.
