Snapchat has collaborated with Microsoft to incorporate advertisements into its AI offering, My AI. This chatbot was unveiled earlier this year to a broader user base within Snapchat.

Last May, the company announced plans to pilot Sponsored Links in My AI. These are links suggested in tandem with the user's interaction with the AI assistant.

For instance, if a user inquires about a store recommendation, My AI might respond with a link sponsored by a local store or any related application.

Similarly, if a user seeks advice for a vacation, My AI could generate a link from an airline or hotel. It could even suggest a local retailer for a product a user is interested in.

Snap and Microsoft will now collaborate on these link suggestions. Microsoft disclosed this partnership during its recent advertiser event. By leveraging Microsoft Advertising's Ads for Chat API, Snap's Sponsored Links will connect users with pertinent partners related to their conversation.

This will also allow advertisers to engage with potential customers precisely when they express interest. This feature will be accessible to Microsoft Advertising's clients in the US and several other markets.

Snapchat Introduces My AI

In April, Snapchat introduced My AI, an AI-powered chatbot, to its vast community of over 750 million monthly Snapchatters. Since then, more than 150 million people have exchanged over 10 billion messages with My AI, establishing it as one of the most extensively used consumer chatbots.

The adoption of conversational AI within the community has been noteworthy, with millions relying on My AI for practical recommendations and to explore their interests across various domains like food, beauty, fitness, shopping, and more.

Snap recently commenced trials of Sponsored Links within My AI to offer Snapchatters relevant content and experiences from select partners. Snap's partnership with Microsoft Advertising will integrate Sponsored Links seamlessly within My AI.

Fueled by Microsoft's Advertising's Ads for Chat API, Sponsored Links will connect users with partners that align with their ongoing conversation. This collaborative effort enables partners to engage Snapchatters at a time when they demonstrate potential interest.

Snap remains in the early stages of experimentation to ensure the creation of considerate and useful experiences for its community. The company is collaborating with various partners to enhance My AI for its community and business in the upcoming months.

"Microsoft Advertising's clients in the US and select markets can now engage with Snapchatters through My AI to seamlessly deliver links that are relevant to the conversation. We remain in an early experimental phase to ensure we design thoughtful, useful experiences for our community, and are actively working with a variety of partners to enhance My AI - for both our community and our business - over the coming months," Snap said in a press release.
