While some drivers are looking forward to their Tesla Cybertruck deliveries coming later this month, there is a new clause in their purchase agreement of the EV pickup about selling it. For the first year since their purchase, owners are bound by their contracts to keep the electric pickup from the company, and they are not allowed to sell the truck for profit or other reasons.

Selling the Cybertruck will lead to massive consequences if Tesla does not accept an owner's reason, leading to a lawsuit against them that the company may pursue.

Tesla's latest "Motor Vehicle Agreement" was recently a topic of controversy, and this is because of the "Cybertruck Only" clause that the company brought for all purchases of the electric pickup. This essentially binds a customer or owner of the Cybertruck to owning the vehicle for an entire year, and it requires them to keep the EV from the purchase period of the car.

The recent update would not allow them to get rid of, sell, or flip the car for an entire year.

The first deliveries of the Tesla Cybertruck will arrive by November 30, and according to Engadget, serious consequences may arrive for violating the terms the clean energy company set.

Tesla Lawsuit Incoming for Unapproved Reasons for Selling

Cybertruck owners have the choice to either sell the EV back to Tesla, but it is still subject to approval, and the company may decline. Also, Tesla claims that it has a "no reseller policy" because of Cybertruck's limited availability in the market.

Breaching the terms may lead to a lawsuit, claims the company.

You agree that in the event you breach this provision, or Tesla has a reasonable belief that you are about to breach this provision, Tesla may seek injunctive relief to prevent the transfer of title of the Vehicle or demand liquidated damages from you in the amount of $50,000 or the value received as consideration for the sale or transfer, whichever is greater. Tesla may also refuse to sell you any future vehicles.

Tesla's Cybertruck: Its Massive Wait, Availability, and MORE

Earlier this year, Cybertruck fans and those who have already preordered had their prayers answered by the company, as it was confirmed that the company was said to enter production of the EV this 2023.

It remains unknown which is the exact reason why the Cybertruck was delayed, with Tesla speculating for various problems including production challenges, including engineering issues for the electric car.

Since 2019, the Cybertruck has been a promised EV, capturing what Tesla envisions for the future, offering an adventure truck with massive capabilities for off-roading and more.

Tesla went ahead of everybody with its purchase agreement about selling the car.

It essentially "locks" the customer in the binding contract to own the car for an entire year before they resell flip it, either they have an acceptable reason for Tesla or face its wrath via a lawsuit for breaching the agreement.
