After initially fielded to be a Microsoft platform exclusive for the Xbox and PC, it is now reported that The Elder Scrolls 6, the sequel to the renowned Skyrim, is coming to the PlayStation 5 as well. Earlier rumors claimed that its next release will no longer arrive on the PS5, and this is despite Skyrim best known for its massive success and user base on the Sony console. 

It was also promised by Microsoft before that its acquisition of Activision Blizzard would not keep games away from Sony, but it only applies to ABK games like Call of Duty. 

Bethesda's The Elder Scrolls 6 is Coming to the PS5

While there is still no news behind The Elder Scrolls VI's development and when to expect the title's release, a new rumor in the industry clarified its initial exclusivity to Microsoft platforms only. ComicBook Gaming's latest report claimed that amidst the ports coming to the PlayStation from under Microsoft Gaming, The Elder Scrolls VI would also be a part of it. 

This comes from Xbox Era's report which claimed that ports from Starfield, Sea of Thieves, Hi-Fi Rush, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and more.

Despite the massive wait for the game, there are still no official announcements or trailers for this anticipated sequel game, best known for succeeding Skyrim.

Bethesda to Share Games with Sony and PlayStation

According to ComicBook Gaming, Xbox Era's report claimed that Microsoft will share games with Sony and the PlayStation, and the same applies to Bethesda, known for being under the Big Tech software company. Moreover, this positions Microsoft and Xbox as a "third-party publisher" expanding more of its business thanks to its renowned merger deals.

For over a decade now, Bethesda Game Studios' renowned franchise last released its latest take, centering on The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, which was best known for its multiple awards and humongous success in the market. The renowned action role-playing game was released on multiple platforms as well, but the PlayStation is among the top consoles for it. 

Almost three years ago, Microsoft completed its acquisition of Bethesda Softworks and its entirety, including all the titles it created and is under development, initially thought to bring problems for its games' PlayStation availability. 

Its latest AAA development for the franchise, The Elder Scrolls VI, is already facing delays, and it is also said to be the last game to have director Todd Howard join the development team. 

Early rumors plagued the availability of The Elder Scrolls VI for Sony and the PlayStation amidst the massive ventures of Microsoft and Xbox. However, what most people thought of and initially heard through the grapevine is now being clarified, with The Elder Scrolls VI coming to the PlayStation 5 to deliver the experience, still with its renowned platform which helped it reach success.
