Bioware dropped a surprise announcement last week with news that a new single-player expansion would be coming to Dragon Age: Inquisition. Called "Jaws of Harkkon," the DLC adds a brand new zone for players to explore as well as new quests and items.

The piece of news came with one catch — the DLC is currently only available on Xbox One and PC. Bioware and EA made no mention of when the DLC might come to other gaming platforms, leaving many fans of the game more than a little upset.

We now have official word on when exactly the rest of the gaming community will be able to once again dive into the world of Thedas, and it is still a ways off. Bioware says the DLC will be released in May for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Bioware did not, however, say exactly when in May the DLC will be coming. It could be toward the beginning or the end of the month, meaning anywhere from a six-to-nine week period of exclusivity for Xbox One and PC gamers.

That's a bummer. Waiting for more than a month to play new content for your favorite game, just because you are playing on a different console, is nobody's idea of fun. It's hard to see exactly how this helps Microsoft, especially considering the DLC is coming out on Xbox 360, the same time as on PlayStation.

From what we can tell, the DLC revolves around the god Harkkon Wintersbreath, a deity of the Avvar. The Avvar tribe can already be seen in Dragon Age: Inquisition. A group of them take Inquisition forces hostage, and it is up to the player to save them in one of the game's numerous side missions. After completing the mission, an Avvar shaman known as Sky Watcher can be persuaded to join the Inquisition army.

This piece of DLC looks to expand on this group and their beliefs while adding more content in the same vein of the main game.

Dragon Age: Inquisition's "Jaws of Harkkon" DLC is $14.99 and currently available on Xbox One and PC.
