Activision has released a teaser video for the highly-anticipated Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, the next iteration of the successful first-person shooter franchise.

The game had been previously confirmed, but with very limited details — aside from the fact that the title was developed by Treyarch and that it will likely be released within the year.

Activision and Treyarch released a teaser video on April 12 that provides cryptic clues on the upcoming title. It's composed almost entirely of seemingly random numbers and letters. These numbers and letters however provide important hints about the direction of Black Ops 3.

Within the video are location coordinates, with the locations being tagged, including a Singaporean school, 6 October Bridge in Cairo and another bridge located in Zurich.

The video also includes an image that resembles the iconic picture of the cover art cover soldier on the first Black Ops, and ends with the promised worldwide reveal date of April 26.

Digging through the source code of the Call of Duty franchise official website also revealed a blurb that provided more details on the Black Ops 3 story.

"Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 deploys players into a dark, twisted future where a new breed of Black Ops soldier emerges and the lines are blurred between our own humanity and the technology we created to stay ahead, in a world where cutting-edge military robotics define warfare," reads the description.

The retrieved blurb also reveals three game modes for Black Ops 3: namely, Campaign mode, Multiplayer mode and Zombies mode, with Treyarch claiming that the title will provide fans of the franchise with the most ambitious and deepest Call of Duty game ever.

Fans will be thrilled to see the return of the beloved Zombies mode, and the teaser video did send out hints toward that end. Included in the video is a floating 115, which is a significant number taken from Element 115. The substance was intended to create super soldiers for Nazis, but it had the side effect of being able to reanimate dead cells, leading to the rise of zombies.

The estimated release time for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is sometime in November, which will make it the successor to the very popular Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.
