Chinese company LeTV revealed that it will be releasing its first ever smartphone, named the Le Superphone, and that the device will be coming to the United States within the year.

In addition, LeTV announced that it will be releasing its own Smart TV, along with a video streaming service similar to Netflix that will be geared towards serving Americans that are fluent in Chinese.

LeTV is not a household name in the United States, despite being in operations since 2004. The company has an employee count of about 5,000 workers and has a valuation of over $12 billion at the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.

The Le Superphone looks to live up to its name, and known specifications about the device look very promising. Constructed from metal components and featuring a screen with no bezel, LeTV is stating that it will also be the first smartphone to feature the new USB Type-C technology, which will make it easier for users to charge the device.

The Le Superphone will also come with a 21MP camera powered by a Sony sensor, a wireless HDMI connection and a massive 3,000mAh battery to give the smartphone staying power while being used.

The device will also be packing the powerful Snapdragon 810 processor to run the modified Android operating system that the Le Superphone features. The smartphone's operating system may be focused heavily on providing access to the streaming media services of LeTV, which is a major source of revenue for the company.

One of the features in Le Superphone's version of Android is the Live TV option, which will allow users to watch streaming shows supported by a listing of available content.

The screen of the Le Superphone, which is reportedly manufactured by Sharp, is supposed to be able to provide users with a higher dynamic range compared to any other device in the market. The smartphone will also have customizable color profiles and an advanced audio system, which will all combine to provide users with the best possible viewing experience.

LeTV announced that there will be three versions for the Le Superphone, namely the Superphone 1, the Superphone 1 Pro and the Superphone 1 Max. Only one of these variants will be sold in the United States though, and it has not yet been determined which one.

The sizes of the smartphones are still kept under wraps, but Forbes reported that two of the devices will have a 5.5-inch screen and a 6.3-inch screen.

The Le Superphone will be released at a yet announced date, but it will be within the year. The price has also not yet been announced.
