The Final Fantasy 7 remake is real and fans are overly excited for all the right reasons. So far, Square Enix has been saying all the right things, including not going down the path of creating new characters.

According to director Tetsuya Nomura, there is no plan to bring forth any form of new characters, but other significant changes will be made. The plan right now is to make things more realistic. For example, the looks of the game should be in line with graphics of today, and we also expect the gameplay to change.

"There won't be new characters," he told Famitsu (via Gematsu). "As for the visual taste, we're doing them to match today's visuals and appear closer to reality."

The gameplay according to Nomura will be a more realistic system, so we are guessing those who are hoping Square Enix will bring back the turn-based system will be disappointed.

We believe this is the best way to go rather than turn-based. Folks who want the old way of playing Final Fantasy 7 should go ahead and play the old game instead, and allow Square Enix to reimagine the remake in how the publisher sees fit.

As for whether or not the game will come to Xbox One and or PC, Nomura stated that Final Fantasy 7 Remake will definitely come first to PlayStation 4. However, they are not certain what will happen in the future after the exclusivity deals end.

If we were to bet, we'd bet on Final Fantasy 7 Remake coming to the Xbox One a year after launching on PlayStation 4. Chances are the game is being made with the PlayStation 4 in mind rather than anything else, which means it could be challenging to port it to other platforms in a short amount of time.

And let's face it, the PlayStation 4 has proven to be the most graphically capable out of the two consoles, so this could add to the difficulty of porting the game to the Xbox One.

For now, only time will tell what will happen. However, Square Enix is a multiplatform publisher, so we do believe it will come to the Xbox One eventually.
