While WWE 2K15 was a solid first step for the wrestling series on current gen consoles, fans noticed more than a few important pieces missing. Popular game modes and more than a few big name wrestlers were nowhere to be seen, resulting in what felt like a barebones experience at times.

That sounds like it won't be the case this year with WWE 2K16. The game's developer has taken to social media to declare WWE 2K16 will have the largest roster in the franchise's history, with more than 120 unique Superstar/Diva models making their way into the game.

It's important to note that the tweet says "shipping with the game." A number of Superstars and Divas in WWE 2K15 had to be acquired by purchasing DLC or the game's season pass. Sounds like players will be able to enjoy more than 120 playable wrestlers out of the box in WWE 2K16.

The developer took to Instagram as well to further elaborate on what exactly "120 unique models" means.

"Now when we say unique, we're not counting the repeats like 5 John Cena models, or 8 Mark Henry models," says the WWE 2K developer account. "As you can imagine, these models are keeping us crazy busy, but it is worth it."

We already know who six of those models will be: Daniel Bryan, the "Lunatic Fringe" Dean Ambrose, WWE World Heavyweight champion Seth Rollins, Finn Balor from NXT, Bad News Barrett and Diva Paige. You can check out an in game image of Finn Balor here.

WWE 2K16 will release for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 on Oct. 27.
