About two weeks ahead of the OnePlus 2's virtual reality unveiling, members of the OnePlus team participated in a Reddit Ask Me Anything (AMA) session to share a few more details about the company's next phone.

The biggest piece of information culled from the Q&A on Thursday was OnePlus 2's better battery.

During the AMA on the forum site, a Redditor asked the OnePlus team about the OnePlus 2's battery capacity and camera.

"Although the OnePlus 2 is smaller than the OnePlus One, we've managed to pack [in] almost 10 percent more juice," said OnePlus. "The OnePlus 2 will have a whooping 3,300mAh battery! Camera-wise, we have a bunch of things that we believe will set the OnePlus 2 apart, but we'll leave the details for the launch," the team posted.

The 3,300mAh battery capacity helps fill in a still incomplete specs sheet for the OnePlus 2. OnePlus previously revealed that the OnePlus 2 will be powered by the heat-checked revision of Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810. It will also run on 4GB of RAM and feature a USB Type-C port and fingerprint scanner.

Elsewhere in the AMA, OnePlus had to guard some of the details about its near-term plans. The company was asked about its recently launched Oxygen OS and the version the OnePlus 2 will run. Admitting that its in-house version of pre-Google Android was still "quite barebones," the team said the company has added a slew of new features to the Oxygen OS.

"Like we've said before, we're looking to keep it clean, close to stock with some added customization options and a few of our own little tweaks," OnePlus said. "Oxygen is turning out to be a really solid product. I know you asked for specifics, but I've gotta leave you hanging there for another 2~ weeks."

The OnePlus 2's virtual reality reveal will be held on July 27 at 10 p.m. (Eastern). All should be revealed at that point, including a release date from the startup that has been helping reclaim some of the market share held by the biggest players.

"Forget specs and marketing for a second," said OnePlus. "If you were to ask people what the most product focused (smartphone) company was, most people would answer Apple. If you ask who's number two, everyone would have different opinions. This is why we saw an opportunity."
