Gjallarhorn. The exotic rocket launcher is one of Destiny's most sought after weapons. With its regal look and potent killing power, every player needs one in their inventory.

The only problem has been getting one. The rocket hasn't been readily available. Most non-raid exclusive exotics have been sold by Xur multiple times since the game launched last September, but Gjallarhorn? Xur had the rocket for sale the first weekend of the game's release. At the time few players recognized just how powerful the launcher truly was, and even if a player did want to purchase it, it is likely they didn't meet the necessary level requirement or possess enough coins to purchase.

Which is what makes Xur's wares this week so extraordinary. For only the second time in Destiny history, Xur is selling Gjallarhorn for 17 strange coins.

That's a straight up steal. So why now has Xur (or Bungie, that is) decided to let the masses have the coveted rocket launcher? Likely because the weapon will soon be outclassed by what is to come in the game's third expansion, The Taken King. Bungie has already talked about how Gjallarhorn will be getting a serious downgrade in the near future, so this looks to be Bungie's way of letting everybody have their fun with the weapon before it becomes ancient history.

If you already have Gjallarhorn, Xur is also selling his usual assortment of exotic armor as well. Light Beyond Nemesis is always a solid pick for a support oriented Warlock, and it's hard to complain about the extra golden gun shot granted by Achlyophage Symbiote. Xur is also selling an exotic gauntlet engram for 23 motes of light.

You'll find Xur in the Tower this week, deep below the hanger in the far back corner of the bar area. Maybe buy him at drink as a way to say thanks. I'm not sure if weird, tentacle people actually have the capacity to drink, but I'm sure he appreciates the gesture.
